L’Olivaie 2022, cuvée parcellaire du Domaine Coursodon, reveals a racy, deep nose with notes of red fruits and spices. The wine is rich and powerful, elegant and well-structured. The tannins are firm and silky, and the finish is long and flavorful. Decant before serving, or give it a few years to mature and improve.

The estate |
The fifth generation of winegrowers, Jérôme has been working alongside his father Pierre since the 1998 vintage. By producing fine, elegant wines, he has left his mark on the Domaine, and likes to say that “it’s the sum of the small details that makes the difference”. And if their wines are almost beyond reproach today, they owe it in no small part to the constant quest for excellence that has driven every generation of Coursodon. The Domaine’s vineyards (16 ha, including 13.5 ha of reds and 2.5 ha of whites) are mainly located in Mauves, the cradle of Saint-Joseph, on granite soil, a favored terroir for Syrah. A few parcels are also located in the surrounding communes. |
Viticulture |
The vines are planted on steep, granite slopes with southern exposure. No mechanization is possible, which is why all viticultural work is done by hand. Finally, the entire harvest is transported to the winery in 40 kg containers.
