| Tasting notes |
The 50-year-old Vieilles Vignes that make up this Cairanne 2020 give it freshness and beautiful notes of fruit and spices. The palate is straightforward, with firm tannins that need to soften with age. The aromas perceived on the nose are also present. This is a well-balanced wine with good ageing potential, which deserves a little cellaring or opening in advance if all its qualities are to be appreciated.

| The estate |
Located in the village of Cairanne in the southern Rhône Valley, it was created in 1992 by a Cairanne family. The cellar, built at the same date, blends in perfectly with the mas. An authentic mid-19th century building, inhabited at the time by a family named Amadieu. Children of the land and trained agricultural engineers, Yves Jean and Corine acquired this 7-hectare property in 2007 as part of a conversion project. Domaine des Amadieu is certified organic and biodynamic.

| Viticulture |
The garrigue soils, clay-limestone slopes and terraces face Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. Yields controlled by green harvesting such as debudding and thinning. Harvested by hand, with very rigorous berry selection. |
| Winemaking |
Grapes are destemmed and vinified by plot and varietal. Vatting lasts 3 weeks, with some light pumping over and punching of the cap. Finally, 20% of the blend is aged for 12 months, partly in stainless steel vats and partly in oak barrels with 2 or 3 passages. Annual production of this Cairanne 2022 is around 12,000 bottles. |
