Gelso Nero Puglia IGT is a wine with complex aromas of red fruits and spices. Supple and round on the palate, with tasty tannins and a pleasant, Nebbiolo-like texture, followed by a long, greedy finish. |
The estate |
Young estate born in 2003, located in northern Puglia near the town of Cerignola. The estate is 20 km from the Adriatic Sea. Giuseppe Marrano, assisted by his father, passionately cultivates the grape varieties of his region. He makes wines of great expression and precision. He has also always followed the line of organic farming for the management of his vineyards, although he has not yet certified it. That’s why, after several years, Giuseppe decided to apply for European certification, which he has received since the 2019 harvest. |
Viticulture |
Made from young Nero di Troia vines planted in 2009 on sandy soils. Harvesting takes place in mid-September. Planting density is 4,000 vines/ha. The entire estate has been farmed organically since the beginning. |
