STRØM is an aquavit (brandy) – the Scandinavian cousin of gin – featuring caraway and dill. In addition to the aromas of its two constituent seeds, it also features notes of star anise, coriander and citrus on the nose and palate. It’s an elegant alternative to gin, and the ideal companion to a good tonic water. |
The estate |
The La Roja distillery is located in the attic of the Moulin Bornu in Pompaples – known as le Milieu du Monde – where the waters of the Nozon separate to flow southwards towards the Rhône and the Mediterranean Sea. Artisanal production is deliberately limited to ensure excellent quality. This allows Julien and Antoine to participate in every stage of the process, from field to bottle, with one absolute condition: the use of organic and, if possible, local raw materials. They are also constantly thinking about how to keep their ecological footprint to a minimum. |
Viticulture |
The wheat used to produce Strøm is grown organically in the commune of Ogens, some 20 km from Pompaples. |
Distillation |
After a long maceration of local herbs and berries, distillation extracts and enhances Strøm’s fresh, harmonious aromas. |
