The aromas of Podere 29 Gelso Bianco are strongly marked by white-fleshed fruit, with notes of exotic fruit and lemon. On the palate, it’s a veritable explosion of fruit, with good balance and long-lasting freshness. A wine with lots of personality and aromatic richness, ideal as an aperitif or with seafood risotto. |
The estate |
Young estate born in 2003, located in northern Puglia near the town of Cerignola. The estate is 20 km from the Adriatic Sea. Giuseppe Marrano, assisted by his father, passionately cultivates the grape varieties of his region. He makes wines of great expression and precision. He has also always followed the line of organic farming for the management of his vineyards, although he has not yet certified it. That’s why, after several years, Giuseppe decided to apply for European certification, which he has received since the 2019 harvest. |
Viticulture |
This is the latest cuvée to join Podere 29’s achievements. Grown on sandy soils, Gelso Bianco is produced from young vines of the Minutolo variety, long confused with the indigenous Fiano. Planting density of 4,000 vines/ha. Harvested in the first ten days of September. The entire estate has been farmed organically since the beginning. |
Winemaking |
Aged 6 months in stainless steel vats before bottling. Annual production of around 15,000 bottles. |
Food & wine suggestions |
Gelso Bianco is a perfect companion for aperitifs or, as Podere 29 suggests, with seafood risotto or linguine with clams. |
