2017 produced charming, fresh and crisp wines. But successes are not to be found everywhere. In Bordeaux, reds lacked a little power, as conditions favored whites.
In the Northern Rhône Valley, red wines benefited from a successful 2017 vintage, with ripe tannins and aromatic intensity. They are silky, fine and velvety. The fruit is juicy and delicious. In Valais, the 2017 vintage is well and truly exceptional. The official balance sheet published by the Office de la viticulture (OCV) confirms that the current year will be remembered not only for its small harvest, the smallest since 1966, but also for its exceptional quality.
