You can store your carafes in a cupboard or in their original box. However, they will always accumulate dirt regardless of how they are stored.

Wash your Ypsilon 1.0L Wine Decanter promptly, inside and out, after each use. Remove any residue, stains, wine remnants, or fingerprints. However, if washing your wine decanter immediately after use isn't possible, fill it with water to loosen the wine and make cleaning easier. Dry the exterior, then turn the decanter upside down on a drying rack. Once the last drops have dripped, remove any remaining water with a clean microfiber cloth.

This carafe is dishwasher safe; however, only use the dishwasher as a last resort. Be sure to use a delicate wash cycle, avoid the heat drying cycle, and separate the carafes to prevent them from bumping against each other. However, since dishwashers tend to leave some residue, you will achieve better long-term results by handwashing.
