The destemmed but uncrushed grapes arrive at the winery by gravity. Skin maceration takes place in concrete vats, followed by a one-month fermentation with daily pump-overs. The pomace is then drawn off and pressed, separating the juices before aging in stainless steel tanks for six months. The wine is then blended, racked, and filtered before bottling.

Comte Abbatucci

The estate now covers 21 hectares of granite hillsides in the heart of the Taravo Valley in Southern Corsica, at an altitude of approximately 150 meters. The entire estate has been managed biodynamically since the 2000s.

Corsica

Nicknamed “the island of beauty”, Corsica is a unique wine-growing region, suspended between sea and mountains. Benefiting from abundant sunshine, constant sea breezes and highly diverse soils, it offers ideal conditions for producing wines of character.

Viticulture in Corsica dates back to antiquity. Many indigenous grape varieties have been preserved. Among them, Niellucciu (a relative of Tuscan Sangiovese), Sciaccarellu, and Vermentinu express the full typicity of the Corsican vineyard. Each appellation reflects a balance between Mediterranean tradition and a strong island identity. Driven by a new generation of passionate winemakers, Corsica is now establishing itself as one of the jewels of the French wine world.

What is a natural wine?

What is a natural wine?

A natural wine is made from organic or biodynamic grapes, harvested by hand and vinified without chemical inputs. No yeast or additives are used, and sulfur is very limited. The wine thus fully reflects the terroir and the winemaker's work.
