Beschreibung

Offer one of Italy's greatest wines with this Barolo from Azienda Rizieri. Originating from the legendary Langhe region in Piedmont, which gives pride of place to the king of grape varieties: Nebbiolo.

This wine boasts a wide aromatic range. It develops a diverse array of aromas, from fruit and cherry to nutmeg, licorice, chocolate, and a hint of tobacco. Well-structured on the palate, it is a powerful and full-bodied wine with a long finish. It deserves a few years of aging to fully express its potential. A truly great vintage, worthy of its prestigious appellation.

The estate covers 14 hectares, 6.5 hectares of which are forests and deciduous trees that act as a natural lung during the summer months, helping to cool and moderate the air. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares and are situated on clay-limestone soil with sandy veins. They benefit from excellent sun exposure. The Silio cru is located in the northeastern part of the municipality of La Morra. Hail nets are installed to protect the precious Nebbiolo grapes. Natural grass cover grows between the rows, and green harvesting takes place in July. The grapes are then hand-harvested in October at optimal ripeness into 20 kg perforated crates.

Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with skin maceration for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation in barrels followed by 6 months of aging in French oak barrels, then 18 months in 25-hectoliter casks. Bottled after light filtration.

Azienda Rizieri

Azienda Rizieri is located on a hillside, at an altitude of approximately 350 meters in the Sorì del Ricchino. It lies in the heart of the Langhe region, among the beautiful hills of Diano d'Alba, one of the 11 municipalities that make up the Barolo production area.

Piedmont

Nestled at the foot of the Alps in northwestern Italy, Piedmont is one of the country's most prestigious wine regions. Protected by the mountains and influenced by a continental climate with significant temperature variations, it offers ideal conditions for producing wines of great elegance and remarkable complexity.

The king of grapes in the region is Nebbiolo, the source of the legendary Barolo and Barbaresco wines—deep, tannic, and fragrant, capable of aging for decades. Arneis, on the other hand, produces elegant and aromatic white wines. In Piedmont, each hill and each village possesses its own distinct identity, expressed in the glass with unique sincerity. A true jewel of Italian winemaking heritage, the region appeals to lovers of powerful wines as much as to those passionate about balance and refinement.

What is a natural wine?

What is a natural wine?

A natural wine is made from organic or biodynamic grapes, harvested by hand and vinified without chemical inputs. No yeast or additives are used, and sulfur is very limited. The wine thus fully reflects the terroir and the winemaker's work.
