Description
The 2015 Pivier from the Cesconi brothers is a 100% Merlot with a crisp and precise attack. It is distinguished by its balance between black fruit and a delicate touch of oak, resulting from aging in large oak casks. The tannins are firm, and the rich, deep body is remarkably intense. It boasts a beautiful length and finish in the style of a Pomerol. Enjoy it blind alongside other great Bordeaux wines.
Food and wine pairings
This Merlot from Azienda Cesconi will enhance a truffle stew or fine cuts of red meat cooked at low temperature.

Weinbau
The Merlot vineyards are located near the village of Ceniga in the Laghi Valley. The soils are silt and chalk, and the climate is Mediterranean thanks to the proximity of Lake Garda. The vines are trained using the Guyot pruning method. Planting density: 5,000 to 8,000 vines per hectare.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes place for approximately 30 days in a large, open oak cask, followed by 12 months of aging in barrels that have been used once or twice. The barrels are carefully selected, and the wine is then transferred to larger casks where it will remain for another 6 months before bottling. Finally, it undergoes a minimum of 6 months of aging before being released for sale.
Azienda Cesconi
The Cesconi brothers cultivate a 20-hectare vineyard situated in two distinct areas: the Pressano hills at 300 meters altitude and the Sarca Valley at 120 meters above sea level. Committed to their land, they have converted their entire vineyard to organic farming and are now beginning to introduce biodynamic practices.
Trentino
Nestled in the heart of the Italian Alps, Trentino is a mountain wine region renowned for the purity and freshness of its wines. Located in the north of the country, between Lake Garda and the Dolomites, it benefits from an alpine climate tempered by Mediterranean influences, as well as a mosaic of mineral-rich soils.
The Trentino vineyards are often terraced, offering ideal conditions for meticulous viticulture. White grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer express a beautiful freshness and remarkable aromatic finesse. The region is also renowned for its Trento DOC sparkling wines, made using the traditional method and considered among the finest in Italy.
A natural wine is made from organic or biodynamic grapes, harvested by hand and vinified without chemical inputs. No yeast or additives are used, and sulfur is very limited. The wine thus fully reflects the terroir and the winemaker's work.
